Pomegranate is known as a tasty and medicinal fruit in the world.
You can start producing pomegranate trees directly from sprouting seeds of the fruit. Although, these trees might not produce crops as much as plants that are made from trees’ cuttings.
Pomegranate seeds can transform to sprout naturally in nature or can sprout with our help.
Seeds could be cultivated in regions with moderate winters. Or if you are in a colder region you can culture them in room space.
The room temperature for seed growth is 18 to 26 °C.
Yet you can start sprouting in interior spaces.
Juice fresh pomegranate arils and wash them thoroughly and then let them dry for a few days.
Then cover seeds thoroughly and put them into the fridge and let them remain there for a few days. This is a simulation of the time in winter before seeds starting to sprout in spring and it increases the speed of sprouting.
When pomegranate seeds are ready for sprouting, bring them out and let them remain in a warm water bowl for 24 hours. It doesn’t need to dry seeds; they can be planted while they are still wet.
Put the seeds in a dark bag and a warm place, check them once in a few days and then transfer them to a land bed or a pot when they sprout.
Pomegranate seed sprouting starts from the sixth week, and over a year it will be a perfect sapling and will be ready for transferring to the main bed. Pomegranate tree flowering will start from the second year, and its crop production will be from the third and the fourth year. Weather conditions and temperature have a direct influence on the time of flowering and fruit-producing.
